TakePride Project of Pine Strawberry

Take Pride  Project continues to do so much for our community and Christy Powers submitted the following article and photos of their latest project

Louise Anslow, who died in January, was a member and past president of Take Pride Project and spearheaded several very successful fund raising projects. Her love was music. She taught music in schools for many years and was a strong advocate for good music programs in schools and communities.

In her memory, Take Pride wanted to donate a good piano to the Pine Strawberry School music program. The Community Presbyterian Church in Payson, on hearing that the group was seeking a piano, donated their baby grand. Take Pride Project paid for the transporting of the Piano to the school. A plaque will be inscribed with the words “For the Love of Music, in memory of Louise Anslow.”

Take Pride Project is grateful to Community Presbyterian Church in Payson for their kindness and to Kendall Moving Company for so carefully transporting the piano. Take Pride will have the Piano tuned before the start of the new school year.

The un-wrapping

And there it is, a nicely used piano for the Pine/Strawberry School. The piano was donated by the Community Presbyterian Church in Payson where it was played by many accomplished Jazz musicians. Hopefully, some aspiring music students will get their wings, and their inspiration, on this piano.
The Pine/Strawberry School is committed to a music program for the students. How fortunate are the students, and all of us, that Mr. Clark and the school administrators have that dedication.
Thank you to the Community Presbyterian Church, and thank you to Take Pride Project of Pine and Strawberry for this memorial to Louise Anslow, who was dedicated to music programs in the school.
