SIRENS TO BE MONTHLY TESTED AGAIN
The Pine-Strawberry Task Force would like to announce that they will be running the Siren Test in both communities on a regular basis, again.

The first test was held on Fri. Feb. 5th at Noon.
They will run the test each month at noon on the  first Friday.  Monthly testing insures that the sirens are working properly in the event that we do need them for an emergency.

In the event of an emergency, the Sirens will be set off.  We then ask that you tune your radios in to KMOG AM 1420 or KRIM FM 96.3 for further information. GCSO and PSFD will  have announcements sent in for, over the airwaves, instructions.

We thank you so much for your cooperation in this matter.

For more info. on the Sirens and other Task force matters,  The Task Force meet the 2nd Monday of every month at the Pine fire station at 7pm.

DPS Quilt Angels

I am so happy to report about the wonderful success of our annual quiltathon.  The DPS Angels and Friends completed 300 quilts in two and a half days the 4th, 5th, and 6th of this month.
What a bunch of wonderful gals who believe so strongly in this wonderful comfort quilt project for children.  180 are already on their way to DPS Headquarters and next week the remainder will be taken to DPS.
We had many community members helping this year and everyone had a great time and wonderful food.  The gals did the sewing and the husbands did the food preparation and clean up.  What great guys we have.  Jodee Smith was there and took pictures for the newspaper and she brought her girls to help on the third day.  We presented Pastor Mike with a beautiful Noah's Ark quilt for allowing us to use his church and he was very pleased to receive it.
DPS Quilt Angels have been invited to have our Raffle Quilt at the Strawberry Festival and all three Craft shows this summer. This is how we raise funds for the materials to make the quilts for the DPS Officers.

Brush Removal Policy

We offer a FREE service for Brush Pickup.

This is for Residential NOT Commercial use.

Please stack your tree and brush trimmings at the edge of the road where our Bobcat can get to them.  Leaves, pinecones and loose items will need to be in bags, while solid pine needles can be piled for the bobcat.
We will utilize a rotating 8 Zone system with pickups scheduled for Monday through Thursday.  You do not need to call ahead. As we get to each zone, we pick up all piles.

A Community worksheet still needs to be filled out by each property owner using this service. Otherwise, we will not receive the monies needed to continue this FREE service.

Click here for the community work sheet.

Thank you for your patience as we try to get to everyone in a timely fashion.
