2010 Sock Hop
There is Always Something Going on in Our Area

 Sweet Spring Fling
March 13, 2010 at the Pine Strawberry Community Center (Cultural Hall and Ramada)- on Hwy. 87 in the heart of Pine across from the Post Office.
Hours: 10a-4p,
If you long for the good old days, those seemingly bygone days when your community could get together over pie and ice cream, listen to some great music and celebrate just being alive, then long no more. The Pine Strawberry Business Community (PSBC) presents the Sweet Spring Fling including a baking contest/sale (with prizes), a fun “pie-throwing” activity with some well known faces for targets, wonderful live music and some shiny, classic cars to admire. You'll have a selection of goodies to eat while you talk to your neighbors!

I know there is someone who has facts and trivia about the history of strawberries and the Strawberry Festival. I would greatly appreciate that help.

 Volunteers needed for seeding project

The PS Fuel Reduction Committee has announced that over the winter  three volunteer groups will be spreading grass seed over several areas of the firebreak around our community. This is a stimulating and rewarding way to help  protect our area from the devestation of wildfire. If you would like to help in this effort go to the PS Fuel Reduction website for more info.

Volunteers needed

The Pine Strawberry Emergency Task Force is a voluntary group designed to assist the fire dept. in the event of an emergency in our community.

The group does not assist in the actual fighting of a fire or etc. only the management of the station, telephones and various other duties. Its members have been activated in four major fires as well as two snow emergencies in the past years.

The group was organized in 1993 and is still active in 2009.

We meet for training once a month and presently need more volunteers.  Meetings are the second Monday of every month at 7pm.

Your past work history can be an asset in the event of an emergency.  In Construction, medical, law enforcement, management, forest service, just to name a few.

If you are service minded and willing to volunteer or need more information please contact

Arvid Thompson at 476-2352.

The Pine Strawberry Archeological & Historical Society
