The DPS Quilt Angels quilt-a-thon was a huge success. The angels and many community volunteers were able to complete 362 quilts in two-and-a-half days! They also finished and delivered 10 cat and dog beds. The finished products have already been shipped out and are being distributed by DPS headquarters.
Chairperson Willene Smith would like to thank everyone who helped out this year (including those who provided the workers with wonderful meals each day). Because of the many volunteers, they were able to exceed last year’s total.
DPS Quilt Angels during 2009 prepared 570 comfort quilts, 30 of these were made during their three-day "quiltathon". The quilts were delivered to DPS Headquarters.
