Our Local Churches
There are four established houses of worship in our town. On this page we will try to share with you the various activities that each of them are doing for the community.

First Baptist Church will have special Christmas services.

The Christmas Eve services will be Saturday, December 24th at 6pm and 7:30pm at First Baptist Church in Pine located on Hwy. 87, Pine. The Christmas Day service will be at 10:30 am - a time to celebrate Jesus Christ's birthday. We will not be having Bible Study classes nor an Evening service that day in order that people may have a family birthday celebration for our Lord.

Also, Join us for the Sparks program on Monday, December 19th.

We encourage parents, grandparents, family and friends to join us as we celebrate Jesus' birth through songs and a message at 3:25 pm, in the sanctuary at First Baptist Church.

A Wrongful Death Leads to Breath of Life.

Meet Me In The Mountains is an uplifting memoir sure to bring hope and inspiration to readers. A stubborn and determined eight year old girl finds unique ways of dealing with her parents’ divorce and her father’s excessive drinking. She faces fears with creative determination and solutions.

Her faith in Jesus Christ empowers her and she strives to find hope in all situations, especially when life is unfair. Her press - on attitude, though at times controversial, keeps her going. Candy Marie Bridges meets unforeseen challenges head-on.

She fights for two of her three children, diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in adolescence. She exposes private heartaches with the decision to forgive her husband’s senseless wrongful death.

Meet Me In The Mountains, authored by an ordinary woman, encourages readers who feel life is too much to bear. Her stubborn, yet compassionate autobiography reflects humor, anger, rejection, faith-filled persistence and patience.

Appropriate for both secular and Christian book clubs, simple questions following each chapter initiate thought-provoking discussion and motivate readers to share their own stories. Bridges’ honesty captivates the reader. It will be hard to put this book down. Meet Me In The Mountains inspires faith, hope and forgiveness.

Never in her wildest dreams would Candy Marie Bridges have imagined writing a book. She is not an author by profession nor has she read an impressive number of books during her life. She does though have an uplifting story to tell.  And her story is moving readers. Moving them to think about their attitudes and the choice to forgive. The choice to Press On when life is unfair.

She wrote her life story because she is asked frequently why she does what she does and how she came to work, serve, and live in the mountains. Her inspirational and sometimes edgy memoir, Meet Me In The Mountains, is written with honesty and simplicity. Candy unlocks a past filled with pain, anger, disappointment, joy, faith and hope. She tells all about her parent's divorce when she was 12 years old and shares about the debilitating autoimmune diseases two of her children still face to this day. She exposes the news of the shocking and heart breaking sudden wrongful death of her husband. She shares what it's like to be a widow at forty-one years old. She pours her life out with twenty-four thought provoking chapters. They will challenge your own faith, attitude and outlook on life, especially when life throws you unforeseen circumstances. Be prepared to laugh, cry, be angry and rejoice!
