2010 Sock Hop
The Strawberry's Elite's Christmas Decorating Contest

We received seven entries and all were outstanding.   Deciding among them was difficult so we decided that we would award "Mosts" - here are the results:

Most Elaborate - Bill and Barbara Hirsch, 4213 Mistletoe Drive in Pine (at the corner of Mistletoe and Horseshoe way)

Most Fun - Al and Linda Harris, 6511 Randall Place in Pine (up Randall to third house on the left)

Most Animated - Mike and Teresa Peters, 6672 Bradshaw in Pine (Old County Road to Bradshaw, west on Bradshaw about 7/8th mile, on the right.  Approximately 20,000 lights)

Most Holiday Charm - Frank and Jackie Allhands, 4817 Rim View Loop in Strawberry (Ralls Drive, west to Rim View Loop, right on Rim View)

Most Sparkle with Quiet Beauty - Bill and Dawn Potter, 9099 Juniper Road in Strawberry (Fossil Creek Road, left on Old Spruce, right on Juniper to gray house with white fence  on left side of street)

Most Wow Factor - Richard Kubiak, 8720 Tonto Rim Drive, Lot 183, in Strawberry (Fossil Creek Rd, right on Rimwood, drive up the hill, stay to the left at the "Y".  You're there!)

Special Theme (Breast Cancer) and Beautiful Lights - Brian and Diane Boers, 3809 N Apache Trail in Pine (Hardscrabble, right on Hall, left on Gila, right on Apache Trail, fourth house on the right)

We walked around the properties and spent time admiring the decorations and lighting.  Everyone had extremely interesting ideas and themes; judging was difficult since all seven were so outstanding!   We hope that next year, even more people will decide to participate.  There are several places that we saw that should have entered and were beautifully decorated so we encourage people to drive around; see these seven properties and the others.

Strawberry's Elite Judges:  Jan Armbruster (President), Penny (Secretary) and Richard Smith, Dave (Past President) and Denise Prechtel.  Rose Harper (Publicity Chair) and Ginger Jeffers (Treasurer) were on the Judging Committee but were unable to attend at the last minute.

Note - Anyone can volunteer to be a judge next year, it is not a requirement to be in the Elite.
