SR 89A curve realignment on Mingus Mountain to begin June 28
Project delayed for additional surveying
PRESCOTT – The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin construction on June 28 to realign a curve on State Route 89A, 12 miles east of Prescott Valley. Work was originally scheduled to begin in early June, but additional surveying was required due to the mountainous terrain. The project is scheduled for completion in August.
Work hours will be 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. During work hours the roadway will be restricted to one lane and flaggers will be on site to guide motorists through the construction zone. Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes. Vehicles will be restricted to a maximum of eight feet in width and 50 feet in length. All vehicles exceeding these limits will be required to use State Route 69, I-17 and State Route 260 to travel between the Prescott area and the Verde Valley.
More information regarding this project is available at the project hotline at 1-866-751-2083. To receive construction e-updates, e-mail prescottdistrictupdates@azdot.gov.
While ADOT strives to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions, during any construction project, unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Drivers are advised to visit ADOT’s Travel Information Site at www.az511.gov or call 5-1-1 for the most current information about restrictions statewide.
