Great Gramma Ann's Scrapbook

Lyndon Kelly, who was a resident of Pine for many years has produced an extremely interesting book.

In his own words:

I was born in Taftsville, Vermont in 1927.

My dad had an antique shop in the 20s and early 30s, and when times got real tough during the depression, he lost everything and we had to move in with Grandmother who lived in Woodstock, Vermont.

Grandmother passed away in 1938 leaving all her treasures to my mother. Among those treasures were two old fashioned locked trunks. Mother didn't want to damage the trunks by forcing them open, so they just stayed in the attic.

In 1956, Bette and I, and our four children moved to Arizona, where we still reside. In 1972 we made a family vacation trip back to Vermont.

While there, 34 years after grandmother's passing, Mother asked me to help her pick the locks on the old trunks so we could get a glimpse of what was in them. What we found was a real treasure. Among the treasures were tintype pictures of my great grandparents dating back to the Civil War era, calling cards, letters and Great Gramma Ann' old scrapbook.

The scrapbook caught my eye, and after returning to Arizona I started the process of reproducing Great Gramma Ann's Scrapbook. So here it is, eleven grandkids and twenty-three great grandkids later!
